A faster Shopify store with UPI checkout and repeat-order flows

We rebuilt a growing skincare brand’s store on Shopify with a shorter UPI-first checkout, then added Klaviyo flows that brought first-time buyers back for a second order.

Results

2.1s
median mobile load time on product pages, down from 6.4s
27%
of online revenue from automated email flows
18%
fewer COD orders returned to origin

The challenge

The brand had outgrown a heavily customised WooCommerce site. Product pages took over six seconds to load on mobile, checkout ran across four steps, and UPI payments often failed or timed out. About a third of orders were cash on delivery, with a high return-to-origin rate. Email was a monthly newsletter to the full list, with no abandoned cart reminders and nothing to prompt customers when their products were due to run out.

Built with

  • Shopify
  • Razorpay
  • Shiprocket
  • Klaviyo
  • Google Analytics 4

What we did

  1. Migrated products, customers and three years of order history to Shopify, with redirects for every old URL to protect search traffic.
  2. Designed mobile-first product and collection pages with ingredient details, usage guides and reviews, and cut checkout to a single page.
  3. Set up Razorpay with UPI intent, cards and wallets, plus WhatsApp confirmation for COD orders and a small prepaid discount.
  4. Built Klaviyo welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase and replenishment flows timed to each product’s typical usage period.
The new store simply works on a phone, which is where nearly all our customers are. The replenishment emails now bring back customers we used to lose after one order.
